Canopy and frame terminology
Canopies and canopy frames are built out of many parts. Here is a layout of some of the major components.
Canopy Bag
A heavy duty vinyl bag to store and ship the canopy roof and/or skirts. The bag contains a repair kit and clear vinyl windows for shipping documents. All canopies are initially shipped with bubble wrap. Our standard canopy bags can be shipped via UPS, FedEx or any other standard shipping method without being palletized.

Long tubular bag for canopy storage. The tube bag is used in conjunction with a zippered bolt rope strip and is made to the length of the canopy. It serves two purposes. (1) To lay the canopy out lengthwise on the trailer roof during installation. (2) During tear-down it is laid out on the ground with the front eave of the frame lowered to the ground. The roof is unzipped and slides down the rafters into the bag.
It is meant for storage. A common carrier (not UPS or FedEx) is recommended for shipping.

A cantilevered style frame or canopy uses horizontal braces and creates unobstructed clearance under the canopy. This style typically does not have skirts. Also called a Suspended Canopy.

The “Chuckwagon” style portico on his hospitality set-up allows access to the curbside, roadside or both canopies. Its distinctive “hooped” fascia provides an ideal space for branding.

Canopies with zippered bolt rope strips include a “cocktail strap”. This strap relieves stress on the bolt rope zipper when zipping or unzipping the roof.
Simply attach the hook to the end rafter ring. As you zip or unzip the canopy, the weight is borne by the cocktail strap and not the teeth of the zipper.
Combination Skirts
“Combo” skirts are typically clear vinyl upper sections with solid fabric lower skirts. The lower skirts are called half height skirts and hang from horizontal poles. When used in combination, the clear uppers and solid lowers are connected with buckles and straps that loop around the pole through slits in the lower skirts. The lower skirts separate vertically with zippers at every other pole.

Half height skirts provide a perimeter barrier while allowing visibility into and out of the canopy. These skirts are available in two versions. Continuous and individual.
Continuous half skirts travel across the vertical support poles. The skirts are joined by zippers at the poles. The “Gary Fisher” skirt in the photo is a continuous skirt.
Individual half skirts hang from the 1/2 height horizontal poles between the vertical support poles. The “Saab” skirt in the photo is an individual skirt.
