Below are answers to some of the more common questions we’ve encountered over the past 30+ years. Here is a handy canopy installation reference guide (PDF). You may also want to see our Glossary or Product Gallery.

[av_toggle title=’How long does it take to set up a typical mobile canopy?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
This depends on the size of the canopy, how many people are setting up, and the experience of the crew. A standard fully enclosed canopy can be set up by two people in under two hours. With a little practice this time can easily be cut down. Canopies with advanced options such as “extensions” or a “rise above” style frame will take a bit longer.

[av_toggle title=’What style of canopy do I need?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
There are two basic canopy categories: Fully Enclosed and Cantilevered.

How you intend to use the canopy will determine the style you need.

  • Fully enclosed canopies can project up to 30′ away from the trailer. They offer more space, more options and greater security with minimal hardware attached to the trailer.
  • Cantilevered canopies use less framework (no vertical support poles) but are restricted to a maximum 15′ projection. Easy access makes them very popular with vendors and drag teams. Reinforced trailer walls may be needed for support.

To see just some of the different looks available, go to Styles.

[av_toggle title=’What kind of trailer do I need for a mobile canopy?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
Any trailer. In fact, it doesn’t even have to be a trailer. Canopies can be installed on coaches, motor coaches, haulers, goosenecks or buses. Anything with a side wall to mount to. Even if you have a short vehicle, we can “rise above” the roof line. Free-standing canopies are also available.

[av_toggle title=’How do I clean my canopy?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
We’re glad you asked. The cleaner your canopy stays, the longer it will last. Here are some tips:

  • Keep the canopy free of surface dirt by brushing or use a hose.
  • Let the fabric dry completely before storing. If you must travel with the canopy packed wet, pull it out and let it dry as soon as possible.
  • DO NOT use bleach or harsh soaps to clean your canopy. Neutral ph soaps only.

Having your canopy professionally cleaned is a great way to enhance the appearance and extend its life. For years we have happily recommended Clean Awn Professional Awning & Tent Cleaning to our customers.

[av_toggle title=’Do canopies need to be fire retardant?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
In most cases the answer is yes. More and more venues require fire retardant canopies.
We offer fabrics that meet the Federal (NFPA 701) and California State Fire Marshall standards for fire resistance.

[av_toggle title=’Can I replace or cover up existing graphics?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
Although our graphics are intended to be permanent, in some cases it is possible to cover or replace existing graphics. Give us a call to discuss a solution. Planning ahead helps. If you anticipate the need to “re-brand” your canopy sometime down the road, “zippered graphics banners” and “Individual privacy (half height) skirts” are economical ways to freshen up your message.

[av_toggle title=’Your STYLES page shows nine different canopy selections. Is that all there is?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
Certainly not! The styles shown are only samples of the endless combinations that you can be pieced together to fit your specific needs. Canopies can be mounted curbside or roadside. You can add extensions at the cab and/or tailgate ends. You can even wrap around the front and rear and continue all the way around of you like. We also offer arched rafter canopies, arched storefronts, bridge canopies that join two or more trailers. The possibilities are endless.

[av_toggle title=’How long will my canopy last?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
As long as you take care of your canopy and keep it relatively clean, you can expect years of use. The number of years depends on how many events you attend and how you treat the canopy. Two to three years with high usage and up to 7 years if you are careful and keep the canopy clean. Do not store the canopy wet. This promotes the growth of mildew and can damage the fabric.
Note: There is a 1 year warranty on workmanship. Damages caused by the forces of nature or misuse are not covered.

[av_toggle title=’Do you offer a warranty?’ tags=” custom_id=”]
